London - places I love to eat out
Wild Food Cafe
Vegetarian eatery in the heart of Covent Garden. You will find sprouted humous, living breads and many raw foods as well as cooked vegetarian/vegan dishes. Try my favourite Ayurvedic super salad. It is all about wild vibe, fresh ingredients and friendly atmosphere. I love to hang out there, even if it is just for a coffee and one of their most amazing cakes.
This cafe started life as a squat and now is a community centre offering yoga classes and other therapies upstairs. Downstairs chefs and people passionate about food and cooking run a vegetarian community restaurant. Prices are always fixed so you know what you will pay every time, and you can bring your own wine to enjoy. It is not a glamorous place, and chefs are different every day, but it has warmth and that community feel that you can get only in non commercial restaurants.
Next door to Bonningtons this is my favourite deli in London, selling fresh vegetables and great Italian coffee. There is little space inside, so wrap up if it’s cold as the outdoor tables are set in the most peaceful little square. You will find me here every Sunday morning, sipping my coffee and enjoying conversation with yogis, whatever the weather.
Favourite hangout by nutrition and herbal medicine students as their college is right next door. Persian style dishes both meat and vegetarian, are filling and generous. The owner is always there to meet his customers which makes this place extra special. Try my favourite cinnamon tea prepared from an actual cinnamon bark.
