Roast Chickpea Nuts

Have you heard that chickpeas are new nuts? So many people, including myself, find that nuts are not so great for their digestion, hence these chickpea pearls are my go to snack. They are so cost effective to make for dinner parties, and people love them too! Once you make these, I am sure you will love them and make them again. You can use canned chickpeas, but if you have time, soak and cook your own. Not only that is a much cheaper option, but the chickpeas are just so different, they have not sat in salt and that aluminium can for years before you opened it.


  • 2 cans of chickpeas or if you have time, soak and cook your own
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 2 tsp of paprika
  • 1 tsp (or more, if like it hot) of cayenne pepper
  • 2 tbsp of olive oil


  • make sure your chickpeas have sat in the strainer for a bit and are air dry
  • mix all the ingredients together in a big bowl
  • place in the 180C preheated oven, cook for 40 minutes

Keep in an airtight container to prevent them going soggy. And that’s all to it!
